花食习俗
我国的花食文化历史悠久，在远古时代，先民们在探索哪些食物可以吃的同时，就尝到了花的美味。于是，花便成了人们的一种食物资源。食谱、菜谱上的美味，有些是来自群芳谱。花食在人们的食物结构中，从古至今都占有一席之地，它与面食、肉食几乎是同样重要。
杜鹃花是我国名花，我国有600多种，其中云南省就多达420多种。云南少数民族的各种花食就有100多种，其中杜鹃花有10多种。当地人吸食杜鹃花蜜或用花瓣煮汤吃，或晒干盐渍备用。
吃木槿花早在《诗经》中就有记载，福建汀州人用木槿花和稀面和葱花，下锅油煎、松脆可口，俗称"面花"。徽州山区的居民用木槿花煮豆腐吃，味道十分鲜美可口。
黄花是一种传统名菜，不仅味道鲜美，而且营养很丰富，胡萝卜素、维生素及铁、钙、磷、钾的含量均很高。黄花属百合花科，富含蛋白质及糖类。
此外，我国常食用的花还有玉兰花、茉莉花、蔷薇花、凤仙花、睡莲花、紫苏花、薄荷花、玫瑰花、菊花、茶花、荷花等，不胜枚举。
