由于胸腺发育不全所致胸腺依赖(T）淋巴细胞分化不良，导致的一组细胞免疫功能缺陷。多发生于婴儿。患儿对抗原刺激不能发生细胞免疫应答或应答微弱。临床特征是易患严重的病毒感染、迁延不愈的结核病及真菌感染等；有发生恶性肿瘤的倾向。患者的淋巴结和脾脏的胸腺依赖区缺乏T淋巴细胞；外周血液中淋巴细胞减少；细胞免疫功能试验低下。由于辅助性T淋巴细胞(TH）功能缺陷，也在一定程度上影响骨髓衍生(B）淋巴细胞产生抗体的功能。
