信息加工(information proeessing)认知心理学运用的术语。认知心理学把人看作是一个信息加工的系统。任何感觉的输入、概念、表象、事实或知识都可以看作是信息，对这些信息的输入、编码、储存、提取、译码、输出等的过程就是信息加工。所以认知就是信息加工，或者说以某种认知方式处理某种知识的过程就是信息加工。信息加工可以分解为一系列的阶段，每个阶段就是对输入的信息进行某些操作的单元，反应或输出则是这一系列阶段和操作的产物。认知心理学家认为，信息加工提供了一个处理传统的知觉、记忆、思维问题的新的途径。 (高云麟撰林仲贤市)
