性质：受体菌吸收供体菌DNA片段而同时获得两个新的遗传性状的现象。两个连锁的基因可共转化，但共转化不能确定两个基因的连锁。因为共转化的两个供体菌基因可在同一DNA片段上，也可在不同的DNA片段上。两者的区别为:不同DNA片段上两个基因的共转化频率是这两个基因分别转化频率的乘积，因此共转化率低；而同一DNA片段上两个基因的共转化率较高，它们位置越靠近，则共转化越高。共转化率高的两个基因必定连锁，根据重组百分值即可对基因定位。
