性质:单称“榄香酮酸”指β-榄香酮酸。无色针状晶体(由甲醇、丙酮重结晶)。熔点224~225℃。旋光度[α]D+46º(氯仿中)。能溶于甲醇、乙醇、丙酮、氯仿。榄香醇酸经三氧化铬氧化即产生称为“α-榄香酮酸”的物质,实际是一种包括榄香酮酸、脱氢榄香酮酸及其他化合物的混合物。本品乃甘遂醇(Tirucallol)系三甲基类甾醇的一种。与榄香醇酸共存于菲律宾产橄榄属植物Canarium commune L.果实的芳香树脂(马尼拉榄香脂)中。从溶剂萃取液分取其酸成分,再用吉拉德试剂(Gilard’s reagent)分离、精制。或由榄香醇酸氧化制取。用作香精原料。
