侧光照明指光源方向和摄像机光轴成90度的照明形式。其照明特点是被照明对象明暗各半。五种调子明显:高光、亮、暗、次暗及明暗交界线。画面层次丰富,立体感强。使用侧光要注意光比,光比不能太大,要控制在摄像允许的范围之内,照明人物,避免阴阳脸,表现有个性的人物常用侧光,比如《香魂女》中女主人公大多用侧光照明。侧光照明对粗糙表面质地能很好地表现出来。
