杨枝禅院位于清凉冈下，紧邻法雨寺，内存有被誉为“普陀山三宝”之一的“杨枝观音碑”。观音碑高2.34米、宽1.2米，上刻唐代仕女形象的观世音菩萨，珠冠锦袍、宝相庄严，右手执杨枝、左手托净瓶，袒胸跣足，端庄慈祥。 观音碑上刻有“普陀佛像，摹自阎公，一时妙墨，百代钦崇”等字句。此碑系明代万历三十六年根据唐代名画家阎立本所绘杨枝观音像拓本所刻，数百年来，杨枝禅院几经兴废，但观音碑依然保留完好，被誉为镇山之宝。
