巴黎地铁（le métropolitain de paris，简称为métro）是[[法国]][[巴黎]]的地下捷运系统，由巴黎大都会铁路公司（chemin de fer métropolitain de paris）负责营运。目前巴黎地铁总长度221.6公里（133.7哩），有14条主线、2条支线，合计380个车站、87个交会站。 地铁路网拓展大致分为三阶段：1900年代到1920年代间，兴筑路线以巴黎核心路网为主；1930年代年代至1950年代，路线扩展至近郊；1960年代至1980年代以建设大区快铁（rer）的路网为主，整体路网于1990年代末期完工。 历史 1845年市政府与铁路公司讨论兴建巴黎地铁的可行性时，对于整体路网的形式有争执： 铁路公司认为，利用现有郊区的路线作延伸兴建巴黎地铁的基础。 市政府希望兴建一条全新、独立于其他系统的地铁。 双方争执将近数十年，到最后由于巴黎人口增多、交通问题层出不穷，当局采用巴黎市政府的构想兴建地铁。 费尔杰斯‧比耶维涅计划 1896年4月20日，巴黎当局核准由费尔杰斯‧比耶维涅拟定的路网计划。 1900年7月19日巴黎地铁首条路线—maillot-vincennes线随巴黎世界博览会开幕启用，车站新艺术（art nouveau）样式出入口系由建筑师吉马赫（hector guimard）设计制造。直到今日，86个吉马赫制造的出入口仍旧站在街道上。 费尔杰斯‧比耶维涅所计划的路网有10条线（今日1号线～9号线），开工后进度极快，原路网也做了小小的更动；1号线与4号线分别为东西向与南北向，呈十字交叉；原本计划的2号线分为南北段呈l状，但1906年决定分拆，将南段并入5号线；3号线与5号线分别为新增的东西线、南北线；6号线原本只从nation车站至place d'italie车站；7号线、8号线、9号线会在商业办公区的加尼叶歌剧院（palais garnier）附近交会，并分别延伸到东北与西南的住宅区。 原先规划的内环状线，因民意导致市府下令停建，只兴建invalides车站与boulevard saint-germain区间后便停工。 南北公司 1904年1月31日，北南地下电气铁路公司（société du chemin de fer électrique souterrain nord-sud de paris , nord-sud company） 巴黎地铁的出口也被涂鸦爱好者们涂上了各种各样的涂鸦作品。
