In DongHeTang area hydrocarbon shows are drilled in several wells in Devonian basal conglomerate.
东河塘泥盆系底砾岩段在多口井取心中均见到油气显示,为明确该区勘探潜力, 结合岩心、地震资料对该区进行了沉积微相与地震相的分析,分析表明该区底砾岩段整体为有障壁海岸沉积环境,在东河1井东南的断层下盘存在席状砂,可能形成断层封堵的岩性油气藏,具有一定的勘探价值。

本文根据野外调查及采样分析，从沉积学特征、火山岩特征和岩石地球化学特征等多方面对该区中石炭世地层──东图津河组的沉积环境进行了判别分析，证明其形成于岛弧及其周围海盆，主要是弧后盆地等滨、浅海环境。
