解放战争时期，中国人民解放军桐柏军区部队对驻守河南省邓县城的国民党保安团进行的攻城战役。
邓县城位于河南省西南部，是联结南阳、襄阳的军事重镇，内外二城均有面宽水深的护城壕。国民党11个保安团，凭借有利地势，构筑了比较坚固的工事，驻守该城。桐柏军区决心以第28旅和第3军分区部队共4个多团围攻该城。1948年1月9日，攻城部队逼近城郊，以少量骑兵布于城北，白天往来奔驰，晚上到处举火，以迷惑敌人；将主力配置在东、西两面。12日，攻城部队突破保安团的严密防守，炸掉护城壕水闸，引出壕内积水；14日傍晚，乘壕水下降，从东西两面进行攻击，迅速占领外城；16日晨攻入内城，将守军歼灭。此役共歼国民党保安团约7000人，巩固和扩大了桐柏解放区。
