Applying it to contrastive studies, this paper, in the light of the differences between the basic structural units of English and Chinese, looks at how differently either language uses the grammatical markers as well as its relationship with the recreation of inner meaning in translation.

As a new research subject,Chinese text structure annotation faces various challenges,such as establishing the theoretical framework,defining basic discourse units,setting up the abstract Chinese text structure,etc.
