Information Distribution and Decoding of English Newscast Text;

The present paper investigates 50 sample scripts of broadcast news in English randomly chosen from VOA and BBC websites in terms of their thematic progression(TP) patterns,so as to find out some particular TP features in this genre.

A new HMM-based segmentation and classification algorithm is proposed for the segmentation and classification of broadcast news since HMM can simulate stochastic time series data quite well.

In recent years,newspaper news was used in TEM-8 to test students ability to understand broadcast news.

This paper analyzes the English broadcasting news from the choice of the process types and the transitivity of the clause by using the transitivity theory for the purpose of discovering the distribution law of the process types of the English broadcasting news text and its genre characteristics.

Broadcasting news takes sound as the intermediary,different sound represents different narrator,and different narrator represents different narrating angle.

Listening to VOA news is an essential part in listening comprehension training for English majors, and it is also a difficult part for them.
