| 发展心理学 developmental psychology 研究心理的发生、发展过程和规律的心理学分支。主要研究心理的种系发展和个体发展。心理的种系发展指从动物到人类，特别是原始人类的进化过程中心理的发生和发展。动物心理的发生和发展属于动物心理学或比较心理学的范围。心理的个体发展指人从出生到成熟到衰老的过程中心理的发生和发展。在个体心理发展的研究中，儿童期（包括少年期和青年初期）的心理发展是儿童心理学的主要内容。人的个体从出生到衰老整个发展时期的心理发展的研究称为毕生发展心理学。 一般说来，心理的发展是从低级走向高级，从简单走向复杂；但从具体的发展过程中可以看出，其中也包含有某些因素的消逝和新因素的出现。如新生儿与生俱来的抓握反射在婴儿期会慢慢消逝，这对婴儿手部动作的发展是有利的。儿童思维的发展和动作技能的发展也与此类似。人到了老年一般感知思维能力会有所衰退，但其中的某些方面，如晶体智力还会有所提高，只是在临终前才出现一种普遍衰降。总之，心理的发展是生长和衰退这两个对立面的统一，由此产生心理的量变和质变以及其他变化形式。童年期以生长方面占优势，成年期则处于较为稳定的态势，到老年期则衰退方面居于优势。 |
