性质:指将碳化硅(SiC)晶须加到氮化硅(Si3N4)陶瓷中所制造出的复合材料。加入晶须后,氮化硅陶瓷的烧结致密化的难度增加,所以,含有晶须的氮化硅材料,一般采用热压或者热等静压烧结法等加压烧结方法。在氮化硅陶瓷中加入10%~30%(体积)的SiC晶须后,断裂韧性可以提高30%~100%,最高值可达到12.5MPa·m1/2。晶须增韧后的氮化硅陶瓷,由于韧性好,使用可靠性好,在热机用陶瓷部件、各种需要耐高温的高强度部件等工程材料领域具有广泛的用途。晶须增韧氮化硅复合材料刀具和刃具也有很大市场潜力。
