In this section the author discusses the borrowing processes, channels, features and significance of Japanese loanwords in three historical periods: the ancient Chinese period, the late Qing and early Republic period from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century, and the later part of the 20th century.

Japanese loanwords were big in number,large in scale,diverse in channel,over a long period of time and with widespread social reaction and swift updating,which combined to constitute a driving force behind linguistic evolution of the Chinese language.

When Japanese loanwords are introduced into the Chinese vocabulary,some tend to hold the same meaning as they are in Japanese,while others are inclined to change their meanings to different degrees.

During that period,a large number of Japanese-loaned words flowed in,quickly merged in to Chinese.

Thousands of English loan words have entered into Chinese, which greatly influence the Chinese word-formation resulting in great variations in it.

This paper describes the developing process and the main properties for fuzzy k-prototypes algorithm, and points out its disadvantages in dealing with the mixed numeric and categorical valued data; furthermore, an improved algorithm is presented; finally, the algorithm is applied to Chinese loanwords in English.

By examining some new usages of Chinese borrowings in English, it is held that some of these borrowings in English are being highly assimilated.
