The following reversible reaction exists in the reaction svstem of acrylic acid ammoniation: Snice the formation of main product β-alanine is impaired by the formation of 3,3'-iminodipropionic acid(IDPA)and the single-pass yield of β-alanine is only 30%～50% in respect to the acrylic acid as starting materials, so IDPA must be recycled in the process to yield β-alanine.
