phocomelia
是一种上肢发育不全引起的少见上肢先天性畸形。在胚胎发育的第26d，于胚胎侧面，第5～7颈节处两侧产生一个隆起，即上肢芽。从此发育成上肢各个部分。到31～33d发育成上臂、前臂和手板。到35d手板出现手指间隔痕迹。在这过程中，上臂和前臂发育障碍，手板亦发育不良甚至发育停止，便形成一个短小残缺的小上肢，似海豹一样，故称为海豹肢畸形。
