This paper introduces the design requirement and calculation of the important components of circular knitting machine such as cam, needle, and so on, by means of the relations between the knitting unit and the knitting technology.

As a crucial component of the machine,the design- ing and calculating way of the cam's parameters,such as incline angle,height and minimum width is researched from the viewpoint of mechanics.
