对鸟对兽双面锦  一九七三年新疆阿斯塔那出土。这种锦的基本组织是双层组织。锦地为沉香色显白色变体方胜四叶纹图案。它的织法是白色经与纬、沉香色经与纬各自相交织成二层平纹织物。较大的花纹部分呈“袋状”,可以明显地看出它的双层组织。这种双面锦与明代改机相似,也有把它叫做“双面绢”的,现在我国仍有生产。过去认为改机为明代林洪始创。根据这次发现,至少在唐垂拱年间(公元685—688年)我国丝织品工人已织造这种双面锦了。
