In order to have an efficient vocabulary teaching and find solutions to the problems my students have,the author carried out an action research on cultivation of senior high school students\' autonomous learning competence for English vocabulary through lexical chunks teaching,which is based on Lewis Michael\'s Lexical Approach, Krashen\'s Input Hypothesis and the theory of research action.
