释昙清。未详何许人也。幼持边幅罔或迷方。以谨昏呶究穷佛旨。乃负笈来吴北院道恒宗师法会。与省躬犹滕薛之前后也。旋留南岳化徒。适会元和中阆州龙与寺结界。时义嵩讲素新疏杰出辈流。因云。僧祇律云。齐七树相去。尔所作羯磨者名善作羯磨。准此四面皆取六十三步等。如是自然界约令作法界上僧。须尽集时清遂广征难。如是往返经州涉省。下两街新旧章南山三宗共定夺。嵩公亏理。时故相令狐楚犹为礼部外郎判转。牒据两街传律断昙清义为正。天下声唱。勇执纪纲清能干城矣。后著记号显宗焉。
  [赞宁]系曰。清公南山宗崛起别峰。人咸景仰。与嵩悟二公遇于必争之地。清果得俊。矧夫阆苑也僻用律文三隅不反。既成图状。学者流传致其嵩公如填海底。至大中中玄畅公荐加褒贬贬嵩。之转沈尾闾中矣。
