Based on the existing research,this article first proposed the concept of"Special Westernization Resident"and"General Westernization Resident",then further divided it into"Distinguished families Westernization Resident"and"Civilian Westernization Resident"according to the tight link between the degree of Westernization and the owner\'s position.

Through the actual inquisition,the author analyzed three kinds of courtyards space type such as the center courtyard,the small yard,the threshing ground,and the embraceable hall in the residences of the west of Hunan,and inquired the their inheritance of the space character of ancient villages in China to create new architectu.
