性质:又称碳化。固体燃料的热化学加工方法。将煤、木材、油页岩等在隔绝空气下加热,使分解为气体(如煤气)、液体(如焦油)和固体(如焦炭)产物。干馏设备一般为工业炉窑,煤气由炉窑逸出,并带有焦油蒸气,可以回收。焦炭则残留在炉窑中。根据加热的最终温度,一般可分为高温干馏(约900~1100℃)、中温干馏(约660~750℃)和低温干馏(约500~580℃)。此外,还有成堆干馏或煤堆干馏等。
