The species diversity and community structure of Sarcomastigophora in the Pb-Zn-contaminated section of the Shuiyangjiang River were studied from October 2006 to May 2008.

Although lime method for lead-zinc smelting sewage treatment has the advantages of wide pollutant removing range,low cost and no secondary pollution,the treatment effects are instable since the actual operation parameters are difficult to control.
