The influence of the test methods to the estimation of the water stability of asphalt mixtures was researched by comparing the general immersion tests,the immersion rutting test and the HWTD.

This paper analyzes several methods evaluating cement stability of bituminous mixture,compares their characteristics and existing problems,and draws a conclusion that evaluating cement stability of bituminous mixture with APA immersion rutting test can better simulate water damage in actual pavement through the test on the mixture with different gradations.
